Works really well!

Not used to an induction unit at home, use a standard stove coil system for years. This heats up quick and evenly and heats up quick. Very nice that it tells you if the pan is good or not (I use a Iron pan on it).Overall perfect for that extra burner you may need and/or just to have an induction unit for quick heating of things!Very Satisfied with this. Will see if it lasts for years.

No effort cooking

The stove is very easy and convenient to use. Love that it's push buttons and digital. I noticed right away that it cooks evenly as well as cooks quickly. It is a million times better than cooking on the stove and I feel so unrestricted while using it. For some odd reason, it does make me feel like I am on a food show or something when using it.....lol It's portable, lightweight and most of all it's electric. The device is also easy to just wipe clean with little to no effort. Post COVID, I can go back cooking at my church food shows at my table rather than having to transport the luke warm dishes. It's sleek, modern looking and looks like I paid a million dollar for it.

Impressive, I’m ready for my cooking show!

I wish. Because for a cooking show having the tools is a great step forward, but one still has to be a great chef/cook. Which none in my household is.In our household this cooktop serves an important function, adding the ability to have a portable and additional cooktop capability. Having people staying home puts quite a pressure on our normal routines. This cooktop came to the rescue.Initially I doubted that it can perform as well as our 36” gas cooktop, but after a while, more people start using this cooktop. It is very fast, easy to control, A PLEASURE to clean (vs our 5 burners one), and our pots work on it. Including the cast iron wok.If you need a separate/portable cooktop, we highly recommend this one.

Induction burner functions as expected. Typo on control panel, though

This induction burner functions as expected. I've used similar before when staying places, and the controls on this Induction Burner are about the same. The packing is simple, a cardboard box, and within there is the Induction Burner and an instruction manual. Everything is packed well. The instruction manual is written OK, though some of it is a bit jumbled, as though it was not translated that well. It's still not difficult to understand the manual. The first part of the manual covers Safety Instructions and explains how induction burners work. Induction burners, it involves magnets and stuff, so the cookware you place on this burner must be magnetic, the next area of the manual covers that. The rest of the manual is a diagram explaining the buttons and their uses, Cleaning instructions for the burner, Trouble-shooting, and warranty information.I had no issues operating this Induction Burner, I've cooked a few small things on it, and it's like other induction burners I've used. Though, there are a few peculiarities. The Instruction manual mentions a Child Lock Button, however I could not locate one on the burner that arrived. Also, there is a big typo on the item itself, it has an, "No/Off" button instead of an, "On/Off" button. The burner works fine, and the temperature increments are adequate. A few things to keep in mind. if you have never used an induction burner, just so you know, they make noise. There is an internal fan, and other noises they make. Also, keep in mind after you power off this burner when you are finished using it, to leave it plugged in until the internal fan shuts off. The internal fan operates for 1-2 minutes after use, to cool the internal components.

A very good choice for in a van or RV.

I purchased this Cheftop 1300 watt portable induction cooktop to use in my vanlife van. I chose it because its 1300 watts as opposed to most others that are 1800 watts, which requires a larger inverter to run. Here's what I found...The cooktop works really well on power cooking (as opposed to temp cooking). I used it the first few times with a Killawatt power meter to determine things like peak startup power, running power and correlation of displayed power vs actual power. When operating on power levels, I I set the unit for 1000 watts, it was pulling about 1000w. 600 was about 600,1300 was about 1300. On peak power which I could only record when the on button was selected, which always starts at 1000w, the peak was 1035, to 1050, never higher. I was able to run this using a very good quality Giandel 1200w pure sine wave inverter (red one) without an issue. I never ran it higher than 1000w though. I also gave a Giandel 2200w pure sine wave inverter, and that one will operate the cook top without limitations. So, you can also set a temperature, like if you want to fry something. I set it to one of the incremental temperatures, 325, or something like that, and fried some ripe plantains (I'm Cuban...). I kept tabs on the temperature of the oil using a digital cooking thermometer with a remote read. The oil came to temp more quickly that on my gas stove (in the house) which was nice, however, after dropping in the sliced plantains, the temp dropped to about 235 and the cooktop struggled a lot to bring the temp back to the setpoint, and actually never managed to get all the way there.I never tried the plantain test using power levels rather than temps, so I can't really sà y if it would so better, same or worse than temps settings. For things like boiling water, this does it QUICK! Way more quickly than the gas range at home.In closing, the unit does work well, and my guess is at 1300 watts, it may not provide enough power input to bring the temp back up quickly. Basic cooking is awesome, and using it in the van is a way better alternative to camping stoves, pocket rocket cooking, built in propane stove, etc. The unit wipes down well, and really, has done everything I want it to do well enough to garner a hearty recommendation. However, if you want this for home use, or any other place that has conventional electrical service, go with an 1800 watt unit. They are priced close to the same as this one, but with an extra 500 watts of power, it would be a better unit overall.Oh, and the On/Off label for the power switch on mine is labeled No/Off... That has resulted in shouting NOOOOOO Everytime I turn it NO...Its a good buy and I love it!

Cool product!

This is a great product if you have plenty of counter space and need more cooking space. It could also be excellent for areas like a man cave--to heat up food from the upstairs kitchen. It's very handy to have and there are a lot of different potential uses for it.As far as cooking on it goes, the main thing to do is make sure that you're cooking in a metal pot or pan. The way to make sure is to try a kitchen magnet on it. If the magnet sticks to your pot or pan, then the induction will work. Obviously things like ceramic cooking dishes will not work. Induction cooking transfers heat to the pot or pan via magnetic energy--that's why it the pot or pan has to be metal.I feel like the cooking speed is about the same as a gas burner, maybe a little slower. But you can use is wherever there is an electrical outlet and a flat, stable surface. And there is no gas/combustion going on, so it's cleaner for the air in your kitchen. There is indeed a typo on the unit--it says NO/OFF instead of ON/OFF. LOL! (But really, not good.....)All things considered, I think this is a versatile and useful product. And I really enjoy cooking on it.Highly recommended!
